Die Arbeit Ruscello in Maremma, 1880-1885 von Giovanni Fattori wurde im Juni 2004 in der Auktion ARTE DEL XIX SECOLO bei Christies in Rom versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von EUR 40.920,00 und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 46 %. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Giovanni Fattori auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Cavalleggero E Carabiniere A Cavallo im Juni 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 240.750,00.
