This artwork by Harry Jackson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in September 2012. In the American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture auction, the work Clayton Danks On Old Steamboat:  Two Champs sold for USD 34,375.00 (€ 26,738.49) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Harry Jackson; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot 'Sacagawea, Study for the Monument', A Bronze Figure sold at auction in November 2002 with the realized price of USD 47,800.00 (€ 48,127.27).
