Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mars And Venus by Hendrick Goltzius was sold in the Old Masters Evening Sale auction at Christies in London in December 2017. The price achieved of GBP 368,750.00 (€ 414,974.11) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300,000.00 – 500,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hendrick Goltzius achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Jupiter And Antiope in January 2010 with an auction result of USD 6,802,500.00 (€ 4,904,470.08).
