Auction result misses estimated price range

This work of art by Hendrick Martensz. Sorgh could be acquired at Christies in London in June 2002 for an unexpectedly low price. In the PICTURES AND WATERCOLOURS FROM LONGLEAT auction, the work Peasants merrymaking in a tavern changed hands for GBP 25,095.00 (€ 38,816.28) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hendrick Martensz. Sorgh achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Musical Company in January 2011 with an auction result of USD 1,762,500.00 (€ 1,285,089.32).
