The work The Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru the morning after Gandhi died, Birla House, Delhi, 1948 by Henri Cartier-Bresson was sold in the MoMA: Henri Cartier-Bresson auction at Christies in New York in October 2017. The »bidding war« ended at USD 12,500.00 (€ 10,731.46), 56% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henri Cartier-Bresson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work On the Banks of the Marne, France in April 2017 with an auction result of USD 212,500.00 (€ 195,043.60).
