In April last year Christies in New York held the auction European Art, which included the work Une vue près de Saint-Privé by Henri Joseph Harpignies. The »bidding war« ended at USD 27,720.00 (€ 26,307.30), 54% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Henri Joseph Harpignies have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Vue prise dans l'île de Capri, Golfe de Naples in May 2000 with an auction result of USD 160,000.00 (€ 171,526.59).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 54 % übertroffen
Im April letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Une vue près de Saint-Privé von Henri Joseph Harpignies zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 27.720,00 (€ 26.307,30) und damit 54% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Henri Joseph Harpignies auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Vue prise dans l'île de Capri, Golfe de Naples im Mai 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 160.000,00 (€ 171.526,59).
