Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

In February this year Christies in New York held the auction Matisse on Paper: Prints & Drawings from the Matisse Family Collections, Online, which included the work Buste de femme by Henri Matisse. Here, the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 30,240.00 (€ 28,522.92). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henri Matisse achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Odalisque couchée aux magnolias in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 80,750,000.00 (€ 69,194,515.85).

Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen

Im Februar diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Matisse on Paper: Prints & Drawings from the Matisse Family Collections, Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Buste de femme von Henri Matisse zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 30.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 30.240,00 (€ 28.522,92) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Henri Matisse erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Odalisque couchée aux magnolias im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 80.750.000,00 (€ 69.194.515,85).
