This artwork by Henri Matisse achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in February this year. In the Matisse on Paper: Prints & Drawings from the Matisse Family Collections, Online auction, the work Marianna Alcaforado, Lettres sold for USD 21,420.00 (€ 20,203.74) - well above the upper estimate of USD 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henri Matisse achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Odalisque couchée aux magnolias in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 80,750,000.00 (€ 69,194,515.85).

Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen

Dieses Kunstwerk von Henri Matisse erzielte im Februar diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Matisse on Paper: Prints & Drawings from the Matisse Family Collections, Online wurde die Arbeit Marianna Alcaforado, Lettres für USD 21.420,00 (€ 20.203,74) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 10.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Henri Matisse erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Odalisque couchée aux magnolias im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 80.750.000,00 (€ 69.194.515,85).
