Auction result well in line with expectations
The work French caïd Dkhissi, Of The Triffas Tribe by Henri Rousseau was sold in the The Orientalist Sale auction at Sothebys in London in April 2017. It changed hands for a price of GBP 43,750.00 (€ 51,953.88) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 35,000.00 – 45,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henri Rousseau achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Les Flamants in May this year with an auction result of USD 43,535,000.00 (€ 40,862,586.82).
