Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2001 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH AND VICTORIAN PAINTINGS, INCLUDING SCOTTISH PICTURES, which included the work A rest in the bluebell woods by Henry John Yeend King. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 5,287.50 (€ 8,531.91) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Henry John Yeend King have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Haymaking in June 2000 with an auction result of GBP 47,000.00 (€ 74,500.79).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion BRITISH AND VICTORIAN PAINTINGS, INCLUDING SCOTTISH PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit A rest in the bluebell woods von Henry John Yeend King zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 5.287,50 (€ 8.531,91) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Henry John Yeend King auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Haymaking im Juni 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 47.000,00 (€ 74.500,79).
