Stent, London, 1640 (Pennington 1778-1803) by Wenceslaus Hollar was sold in the The Collection of Arthur & Charlotte Vershbow Part Three: The Baroque and Rococo Periods auction at Christies in New York in June 2013. The »bidding war« ended at USD 4,750.00 (€ 3,651.04), 19% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wenceslaus Hollar achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Old St. Paul'S Cathedral, London, Seen From The East in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 75,650.00 (€ 90,960.60).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen

Stent, London, 1640 (Pennington 1778-1803) von Wenceslaus Hollar wurde im Juni 2013 in der Auktion The Collection of Arthur & Charlotte Vershbow Part Three: The Baroque and Rococo Periods bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 4.750,00 (€ 3.651,04) und damit 19% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wenceslaus Hollar erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Old St. Paul'S Cathedral, London, Seen From The East im Juli 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 75.650,00 (€ 90.960,60).
