Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In January last year Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master and British Works on Paper, which included the work Scene d'une comedie by Honoré Daumier. Here, the upper estimate of USD 4,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 4,410.00 (€ 3,933.29). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Honoré Daumier achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Les Avocats — Le Parquet Des Avocats in May 2013 with an auction result of USD 2,629,000.00 (€ 2,024,176.16).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Januar letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Old Master and British Works on Paper durch, in der auch die Arbeit Scene d'une comedie von Honoré Daumier zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 4.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 4.410,00 (€ 3.933,29) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Honoré Daumier erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Les Avocats — Le Parquet Des Avocats im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.629.000,00 (€ 2.024.176,16).
