Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work Owl by Huang Yongyu was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2021, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 120,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at HKD 437,500.00 (€ 48,645.57). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Huang Yongyu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Autumn Scenery in November 2017 with an auction result of HKD 19,300,000.00 (€ 2,077,937.47).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Owl von Huang Yongyu im November 2021 bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 120.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 437.500,00 (€ 48.645,57) mehr als dreimal so hoch. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Huang Yongyu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Autumn Scenery im November 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 19.300.000,00 (€ 2.077.937,47).
