Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction The Collection of Ambassador and Mrs. Felix Rohatyn, which included the work View Of A Roman Bath With Figures In The Foreground by Hubert Robert. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 60,480.00 (€ 51,927.53) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hubert Robert achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Colonnade Et Jardins du Palais Médici: Gentlemen Sketching In An Italianate Garden; And Restes du Palais du Pape Jules: An Architectural Capriccio With Haymakers in July 2006 with an auction result of GBP 3,368,000.00 (€ 4,930,357.25).

Im Oktober 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion The Collection of Ambassador and Mrs. Felix Rohatyn durch, in der auch die Arbeit View Of A Roman Bath With Figures In The Foreground von Hubert Robert zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 60.480,00 (€ 51.927,53) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hubert Robert erzielen.
