Auction result well in line with expectations
The work USSR - Bastion of Peace by Igor Makarevich was sold in the The John L. Stewart Collection of Russian Contemporary Art auction at Phillips in London in October 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 10,200.00 (€ 14,647.87) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Igor Makarevich - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Liberty, which sold at auction in February 2008 for GBP 29,300.00 (€ 38,323.25).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit USSR - Bastion of Peace von Igor Makarevich wurde im Oktober 2007 in der Auktion The John L. Stewart Collection of Russian Contemporary Art bei Phillips in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 10.200,00 (€ 14.647,87) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Igor Makarevich mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Liberty beobachtet, die im Februar 2008 für GBP 29.300,00 (€ 38.323,25) versteigert wurde.
