In December 2008 Christies in New York held the auction Important American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Three White Squares by Irene Rice Pereira. The »bidding war« ended at USD 42,500.00 (€ 30,533.80), 70% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Irene Rice Pereira; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Untitled (Generator) sold at auction in May last year with the realized price of USD 60,480.00 (€ 56,360.08).

Im Dezember 2008 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Important American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Three White Squares von Irene Rice Pereira zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 42.500,00 (€ 30.533,80) und damit 70% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Irene Rice Pereira; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Untitled (Generator) im Mai letzten Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 60.480,00 (€ 56.360,08).
