Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Landscape Capriccio With A Classical Portico, A Rugged Coastline Behind by Isaac de Moucheron was sold in the Old Master & British Drawings auction at Sothebys in London in July 2010. It changed hands for a price of GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,508.95) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 3,000.00 – 4,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Isaac de Moucheron achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A view of the Vatican, Rome, with the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica, from the Janiculum in July 2012 with an auction result of GBP 169,250.00 (€ 215,579.01).
