The work Stormy seas by Ivan Aivazovsky was sold in the Russian Art auction at Christies in London in June 2018. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 47,500.00 (€ 53,683.09), 58% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ivan Aivazovsky achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work American Shipping Off The Rock of Gibraltar in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 2,708,000.00 (€ 4,018,535.80).

Die Arbeit Stormy seas von Ivan Aivazovsky wurde im Juni 2018 in der Auktion Russian Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 47.500,00 (€ 53.683,09) und damit 58% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ivan Aivazovsky erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit American Shipping Off The Rock of Gibraltar im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.708.000,00 (€ 4.018.535,80).
