Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Jean Pougny achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in June 2021. In the Russian Pictures auction, the work Grand jardin vert sold for GBP 17,640.00 (€ 20,555.19) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean Pougny achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Chaise Et Boîte À Chapeaux in November 2012 with an auction result of USD 1,762,500.00 (€ 1,354,727.13).
