Auction result well in line with expectations

In December 2012 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors - Masters & Makers, which included the work A man seated in an interior holding a roemer by Jacob Toorenvliet. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,625.00 (€ 2,004.08) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacob Toorenvliet achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Rabbinical Discussion in January 2011 with an auction result of USD 104,500.00 (€ 76,193.95).
