This artwork by Jacob Sibrandi Mancadan achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in November 2007. In the Old Master Paintings from the Collection of Jacques Goudstikker auction, the work A rocky river landscape with two hunters in a rowing boat sold for EUR 38,650.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 15,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Jacob Sibrandi Mancadan; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Peasants with livestock by classical ruins in an extensive landscape, with a youth playing a pipe in the foreground sold at auction in April 2007 with the realized price of USD 96,000.00 (€ 70,278.18).
