This artwork by Jacques-Antoine Vallin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in November 2007. In the Old Master Paintings auction, the work An Italianate River Landscape At Sunset With Shepherdesses Resting In The Foreground sold for GBP 12,500.00 (€ 17,503.23) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jacques-Antoine Vallin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Love Guiding Two Lovers To The Temple Of Hymen in January 2007 with an auction result of USD 102,000.00 (€ 78,473.61).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Jacques-Antoine Vallin erzielte im November 2007 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master Paintings wurde die Arbeit An Italianate River Landscape At Sunset With Shepherdesses Resting In The Foreground für GBP 12.500,00 (€ 17.503,23) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jacques-Antoine Vallin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Love Guiding Two Lovers To The Temple Of Hymen im Januar 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 102.000,00 (€ 78.473,61).
