Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Alexander, Apelles And Campaspe by Jacques-Louis David was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2009. The price achieved of GBP 657,250.00 (€ 745,781.74) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 600,000.00 – 800,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jacques-Louis David have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of Ramel De Nogaret in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 7,209,000.00 (€ 4,630,652.62).

Die Arbeit Alexander, Apelles And Campaspe von Jacques-Louis David kam im Juli 2009 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 657.250,00 (€ 745.781,74) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 600.000,00 – 800.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jacques-Louis David auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait of Ramel De Nogaret im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 7.209.000,00 (€ 4.630.652,62).
