Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
This work without title by James Castle was sold in the Outsider and Vernacular Art auction at Christies in January this year. It achieved a price of USD 6,930.00 (€ 6,382.39), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 16%. Admittedly, works by James Castle have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled Construction (Large Blue Jacket) in January 2019 with an auction result of USD 47,500.00 (€ 41,470.23).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von James Castle wurde im Januar diesen Jahres in der Auktion Outsider and Vernacular Art bei Christies versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 6.930,00 (€ 6.382,39) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 16%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von James Castle auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled Construction (Large Blue Jacket) im Januar 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 47.500,00 (€ 41.470,23).
