Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2000 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian Pictures, which included the work A fisherman on the shore with a town beyond by James Charles. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,410.00 (€ 2,304.59) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Charles achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Darby and Joan in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 26,290.00 (€ 38,382.57).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2000 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Victorian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit A fisherman on the shore with a town beyond von James Charles zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.410,00 (€ 2.304,59) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Charles erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Darby and Joan im Februar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 26.290,00 (€ 38.382,57).
