Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Maxwelton Braes by James Paterson was sold in the The Scottish Sale auction at Sothebys in London in September 2010. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 11,250.00 (€ 13,011.82) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by James Paterson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Green Jug in October 2002 with an auction result of GBP 35,850.00 (€ 56,708.38).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Maxwelton Braes von James Paterson wurde im September 2010 in der Auktion The Scottish Sale bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 11.250,00 (€ 13.011,82) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von James Paterson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Green Jug im Oktober 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 35.850,00 (€ 56.708,38).
