Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by James Sant could be acquired at Christies in London in June 2010 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Victorian & British Impressionist Pictures Including Drawings & Watercolours auction, the work Distant Memories changed hands for GBP 8,750.00 (€ 10,640.81) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Sant achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of the Misses Wilson of Tranby Croft, full-lengths, one standing, in pale blue satin dresses, in a garden in November 2002 with an auction result of GBP 77,675.00 (€ 121,635.05).
