The work Apsara by Jamini Roy was sold in the Indian and Southeast Asian Art Including 20th Century Indian auction at Christies in New York in September 2004. It achieved a price of USD 9,560.00 (€ 7,699.12), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 20%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jamini Roy achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Dralha) in September last year with an auction result of USD 579,600.00 (€ 592,456.30).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Apsara von Jamini Roy wurde im September 2004 in der Auktion Indian and Southeast Asian Art Including 20th Century Indian bei Christies in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 9.560,00 (€ 7.699,12) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 20%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jamini Roy erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Dralha) im September letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 579.600,00 (€ 592.456,30).
