Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Nirmala by Jamini Roy was sold in the Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art auction at Sothebys in London in October 2021. The price achieved of GBP 17,640.00 (€ 20,898.64) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jamini Roy achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Dralha) in September last year with an auction result of USD 579,600.00 (€ 592,456.30).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Nirmala von Jamini Roy wurde im Oktober 2021 in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 17.640,00 (€ 20.898,64) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jamini Roy erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Dralha) im September letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 579.600,00 (€ 592.456,30).
