Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Cat With Prawn) by Jamini Roy was sold in the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art auction at Christies in September 2021. The price achieved of USD 10,000.00 (€ 8,637.82) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jamini Roy achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Dralha) in September last year with an auction result of USD 579,600.00 (€ 592,456.30).

Die Arbeit Untitled (Cat With Prawn) von Jamini Roy wurde im September 2021 in der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art bei Christies versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 8.637,82) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jamini Roy erzielen.
