This artwork by Jamini Roy achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2015. In the Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art auction, the work Untitled (Gopi) sold for USD 21,250.00 (€ 19,784.01) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jamini Roy achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Dralha) in September last year with an auction result of USD 579,600.00 (€ 592,456.30).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Jamini Roy erzielte im März 2015 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art wurde die Arbeit Untitled (Gopi) für USD 21.250,00 (€ 19.784,01) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jamini Roy erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Dralha) im September letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 579.600,00 (€ 592.456,30).
