Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Still Life With A Violin, A Recorder, Books, A Portfolio Of Sheet Of Music, Peaches And Grapes On A Table Top by Jean-Baptiste Oudry was sold in the Master Paintings auction at Sothebys in New York in May 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 600,000.00 – 900,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 610,000.00 (€ 547,822.18) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Jean-Baptiste Oudry have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Album containing a frontispiece and 138 illustrations for books I to VI of the Fables of Jean de La Fontaine in January this year with an auction result of USD 2,700,000.00 (€ 2,486,645.79).

Die Arbeit Still Life With A Violin, A Recorder, Books, A Portfolio Of Sheet Of Music, Peaches And Grapes On A Table Top von Jean-Baptiste Oudry wurde im Mai 2016 in der Auktion Master Paintings bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 600.000,00 – 900.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 610.000,00 (€ 547.822,18) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jean-Baptiste Oudry auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Album containing a frontispiece and 138 illustrations for books I to VI of the Fables of Jean de La Fontaine im Januar diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.700.000,00 (€ 2.486.645,79).
