Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2015 Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Paintings: Part I, which included the work Three Dogs And A Macaw In A Park by Jean-Baptiste Oudry. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 140,000.00 – 180,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 149,000.00 (€ 131,975.20) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean-Baptiste Oudry achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Album containing a frontispiece and 138 illustrations for books I to VI of the Fables of Jean de La Fontaine in January this year with an auction result of USD 2,700,000.00 (€ 2,486,645.79).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2015 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Master Paintings: Part I durch, in der auch die Arbeit Three Dogs And A Macaw In A Park von Jean-Baptiste Oudry zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 140.000,00 – 180.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 149.000,00 (€ 131.975,20) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean-Baptiste Oudry erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Album containing a frontispiece and 138 illustrations for books I to VI of the Fables of Jean de La Fontaine im Januar diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.700.000,00 (€ 2.486.645,79).
