Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Hanging pheasants with summer flowers on a stone ledge in a garden by Jean-Baptiste Robie was sold in the 19th Century European Art, including Spanish and Orientalist Art auction at Christies in London in June 2007. The price achieved of GBP 8,400.00 (€ 12,465.18) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jean-Baptiste Robie have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Roses, anenomes and peonies, strawberries, a silver-gilt ostrich egg cup and a German gold-gilt tankard on a draped table in April 2000 with an auction result of GBP 54,050.00 (€ 92,531.41).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 8.400,00 (€ 12.465,18) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jean-Baptiste Robie auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Roses, anenomes and peonies, strawberries, a silver-gilt ostrich egg cup and a German gold-gilt tankard on a draped table im April 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 54.050,00 (€ 92.531,41).
