Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Femme/Paysanne brulant des herbes by Jean-François Millet was sold in the 19th Century European Art auction at Christies in New York in April 2015. The price achieved of USD 62,500.00 (€ 55,993.55) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean-François Millet achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work L'Horizon (La plaine) in October 2014 with an auction result of USD 1,985,000.00 (€ 1,584,197.92).

Die Arbeit Femme/Paysanne brulant des herbes von Jean-François Millet wurde im April 2015 in der Auktion 19th Century European Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 62.500,00 (€ 55.993,55) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean-François Millet erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit L'Horizon (La plaine) im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.985.000,00 (€ 1.584.197,92).
