Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Jean-Frédéric Schall could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in June 2013 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master Paintings auction, the work A Lady At Her Dressing Table With A Dog changed hands for USD 28,125.00 (€ 21,617.99) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jean-Frédéric Schall - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Hives Of Cupids, which sold at auction in April 2016 for USD 50,000.00 (€ 43,702.47).
