This artwork by Jehangir Sabavala achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March 2018. In the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art auction, the work Heat Haze sold for USD 200,000.00 (€ 162,337.66) - well above the upper estimate of USD 90,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jehangir Sabavala have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Embarkation in September 2021 with an auction result of USD 1,590,000.00 (€ 1,373,412.80).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jehangir Sabavala erzielte im März 2018 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Heat Haze für USD 200.000,00 (€ 162.337,66) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 90.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jehangir Sabavala auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Embarkation im September 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.590.000,00 (€ 1.373.412,80).
