Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Llegada de las barcas by Joaquín Sorolla y Bastida was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2017. The price achieved of GBP 437,000.00 (€ 487,624.89) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300,000.00 – 500,000.00. Admittedly, works by Joaquín Sorolla y Bastida have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Spanish pescadores Valencianos (Valencian Fishermen) in November 2012 with an auction result of GBP 3,737,250.00 (€ 4,603,912.82).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 437.000,00 (€ 487.624,89) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 300.000,00 – 500.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Joaquín Sorolla y Bastida auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Spanish pescadores Valencianos (Valencian Fishermen) im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.737.250,00 (€ 4.603.912,82).
