This artwork by Johann Conrad Seekatz achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July 2000. In the Old Master Pictures auction, the work Soldiers returning from battle sold for GBP 15,275.00 (€ 24,699.47) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Johann Conrad Seekatz have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Bäuerliche Szene vor einem Ziehbrunnen. Um 1765. in September 2006 with an auction result of CHF 177,500.00 (€ 111,883.62).

Oberer Schätzpreis um 91 % übertroffen

Dieses Kunstwerk von Johann Conrad Seekatz erzielte im Juli 2000 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master Pictures wurde die Arbeit Soldiers returning from battle für GBP 15.275,00 (€ 24.699,47) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Johann Conrad Seekatz auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Bäuerliche Szene vor einem Ziehbrunnen. Um 1765. im September 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CHF 177.500,00 (€ 111.883,62).
