Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Children in a Boat by John Olsen was auctioned at Christies in Sydney in August 2001. Here, the upper estimate of AUD 38,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for AUD 41,383.50 (€ 24,024.28). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Olsen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lily Pond at Humpty-Doo, 2004 in May last year with an auction result of AUD 369,000.00 (€ 343,863.57).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Children in a Boat von John Olsen kam im August 2001 bei Christies in Sydney zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von AUD 38.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für AUD 41.383,50 (€ 24.024,28) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Olsen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Lily Pond at Humpty-Doo, 2004 im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 369.000,00 (€ 343.863,57).
