Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by John Nixon could be acquired at Christies in London in July 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work Holyhead Church changed hands for GBP 87.50 (€ 111.17) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Nixon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Musicians practising in May 2001 with an auction result of GBP 6,462.50 (€ 10,834.53).

Dieses Kunstwerk von John Nixon konnte im Juli 2008 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Christie's Interiors wechselte die Arbeit Holyhead Church für GBP 87,50 (€ 111,17) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Nixon erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Musicians practising im Mai 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.462,50 (€ 10.834,53).
