Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2019 a collector was able to acquire the work Marriage (Film Portrait Collage) XXVIII by John Stezaker for GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,352.51). This price was achieved in the auction Handpicked: 50 works selected by the Saatchi Gallery at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by John Stezaker have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Kiss I in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 28,750.00 (€ 33,347.94).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März 2019 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Marriage (Film Portrait Collage) XXVIII von John Stezaker für GBP 3.750,00 (€ 4.352,51) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Handpicked: 50 works selected by the Saatchi Gallery bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Stezaker auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Kiss I im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 28.750,00 (€ 33.347,94).
