Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2007 Christies in London held the auction British Art on Paper, which included the work A Study of Undergrowth At Chudleigh, Devon by John White Abbott. It changed hands for a price of GBP 6,600.00 (€ 9,794.07) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by John White Abbott have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ugbrooke, Devon in June 2006 with an auction result of GBP 38,400.00 (€ 55,564.16).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion British Art on Paper durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Study of Undergrowth At Chudleigh, Devon von John White Abbott zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 6.600,00 (€ 9.794,07) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John White Abbott auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ugbrooke, Devon im Juni 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 38.400,00 (€ 55.564,16).
