Auction result well in line with expectations
In November this year Bonhams held the auction Selections from The Playboy Collection, which included the work DR-a by Josef Albers. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 6,400.00 (€ 5,867.25) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Josef Albers achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Homage to the Square in May this year with an auction result of USD 2,954,000.00 (€ 2,772,667.54).
