Auction result misses estimated price range

This work of art by Joseph Mallord William Turner could be acquired at Christies in London in July last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Masters Evening Sale auction, the work Hampton Court Palace changed hands for GBP 437,500.00 (€ 522,452.71) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 500,000.00 – 800,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joseph Mallord William Turner achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Rome, From Mount Aventine in December 2014 with an auction result of GBP 30,322,500.00 (€ 39,035,113.21).

Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne

Dieses Kunstwerk von Joseph Mallord William Turner konnte im Juli letzten Jahres bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Old Masters Evening Sale wechselte die Arbeit Hampton Court Palace für GBP 437.500,00 (€ 522.452,71) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 500.000,00 – 800.000,00.
