Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Flowering Tropical Cactus by Joseph Stella was sold in the American Art auction at Bonhams in New York in July 2020. The price achieved of USD 20,075 (€ 17,050) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been given by the auction house as USD 15,000 - 25,000. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joseph Stella achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tree of My Life in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 5,937,500 (€ 5,243,752).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Flowering Tropical Cactus von Joseph Stella wurde im Juli 2020 in der Auktion American Art bei Bonhams in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 20.075 (€ 17.050) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 15.000 – 25.000 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joseph Stella erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Tree of My Life im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.937.500 (€ 5.243.752).
