In the Old Master & 19th Century European Art, Including Property from The Forbes Collection: The Panorama of Champigny auction, the work Calm Before The Storm sold for USD 16,250.00 (€ 12,449.25) - well above the upper estimate of USD 9,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jules Dupré have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work French Intérior De Ferme Dans Le Berry in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 115,000.00 (€ 73,869.48).
