This artwork by Julio Romero de Torres achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Madrid in October 2005. In the ARTE ESPANOL auction, the work Mujer asomada a la puerta del jardín sold for EUR 549,600.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 300,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Julio Romero de Torres - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Fuensanta, which sold at auction in November 2007 for GBP 826,900.00 (€ 1,157,873.93).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Julio Romero de Torres erzielte im Oktober 2005 bei Christies in Madrid einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion ARTE ESPANOL wurde die Arbeit Mujer asomada a la puerta del jardín für EUR 549.600,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 300.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Julio Romero de Torres mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Fuensanta beobachtet, die im November 2007 für GBP 826.900,00 (€ 1.157.873,93) versteigert wurde.
