Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In April 2012 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern & Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings, which included the work Peace by Lee Man Fong. Here, the upper estimate of HKD 1,800,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for HKD 1,820,000.00 (€ 177,336.16). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lee Man Fong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bali Life in October 2014 with an auction result of HKD 33,720,000.00 (€ 3,471,572.23).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im April 2012 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern & Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Peace von Lee Man Fong zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von HKD 1.800.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für HKD 1.820.000,00 (€ 177.336,16) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lee Man Fong erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Bali Life im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 33.720.000,00 (€ 3.471.572,23).
