Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Rojak Seller by Lee Man Fong was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art Evening Sale auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2019. It changed hands for a price of HKD 2,750,000.00 (€ 314,320.93) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 2,000,000.00 – 3,000,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lee Man Fong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bali Life in October 2014 with an auction result of HKD 33,720,000.00 (€ 3,471,572.23).
